Brian

Brian May in conjunction with the band Tangerine Dream are working on writing a new and unique composition. It is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of space flight by Yuri Gagarin.

Song will be presented during the scientific and Music Festival Starmus, which will be held June 20-25 on the Spanish island of Tenerife. According to one of the organizers of the festival Garik Israelian became known: Brian May and the band Tangerine Dream, even prepare two musical compositions. One of them is devoted to the pioneer Yuri Gagarin of the universe, the other – the legendary cosmonaut Alexei Leonov, who made first in the history of mankind spacewalk. The uniqueness of the compositions is that they will be recorded from space acoustic waves (sound), designed Israelyan, and to hear first will be at the show a unique concert entitled The universe is full of sounds. It is assumed that the festival will also participate Starmus the first woman-cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, the famous astronaut NASA, including Buzz Aldrin, the first walk on the moon, the president of the International Astronomical Union, Robert Williams, who heads the project of a telescope Hubble, Russian cosmonauts Viktor Gorbatko, Sergei Krikalev and Gennady Padalka. Interestingly, the festival will Starmus first attempt to combine the achievement of several sectors in the world of astronomy. Also for the first time will be music, published by the planets and recorded by scientists. As part of Starmus also planned exhibition of astrophotography and space art, shows documentaries about space exploration. A separate space will be allocated at the festival, and the so-called Zone NETWORK (SETI, Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute). Director of NETWORK in California Jill Tarter will speak about the projects of the Institute, including a telescope to search for aliens (Allen Telescope Array). Starmus leading festival is likely to be Tom Hanks – American actor and producer, singer of one of the main roles in the movie Apollo 13. It should be noted that the action will take place at the highest level. This we can say at least that the official support of the festival have the UNESCO Institute of Astrophysics, Canary Islands, the Canary Islands Government, the International Astronomical Union, as well as the journal Nature.
